Small Capitol Apartment

Capitol Apartment is a modest alteration to a small apartment within Capitol House. G-AP’s scope was deliberately compact: remove one internal wall, improve the use of the living space, and design a new joinery element that could hold storage, display, books, records and everyday clutter without overworking the apartment. The project was developed as a low-cost, high-impact intervention. No major expansion, no full rebuild, no over-designed fit-out. The main architectural move was to make the apartment feel less divided and more usable, while keeping the work simple enough to be built within a tight budget and a functioning residential building.
